About the Chief
The HTR Division Chief provides the comprehensive oversight for the Technical Rescue Program in the Commonwealth. In addition, the HTR Chief provides the specialized training for Virginia's Fire Service in relation to the HTR Program as well as directing the curriculum development. The HTR Chief maintains a comprehensive list of the instructor cadre, locations of logistical trailers for support, and the on-going training sites throughout the Commonwealth. The HTR Chief also assists and supports Divisional Technical Rescue Teams both in training and while deployed on actual incidents.

Divisional Technical Rescue Teams
Technical Rescue Teams have been designated in seven (7) divisions through out the Commonwealth. They provide specialized emergency response services such as: Trench Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Vehicle Rescue, Water Rescue, Rope Rescue, Farm Machinery Rescue, Structural Collapse Rescue, and Wilderness Search Rescue.
